I cannot believe that we are already on the fourth week of school! This is unbelievable! I don't know about you but this year feels like it's already flying by!
We have had our first PTO meeting of the year on Monday and the people who were there had some great input. It would be great if we could have more in attendance and we are working on ways to make that happen.
Testing is well underway and should be completed by the end of next week! The kids are working hard and they are showing off their skills already! This is exciting! Please make sure you child is getting a good breakfast and a good nights rest all the time but especially during these testing weeks. The days can seem long but get even longer when they are spending time looking at questions on a computer screen.
Attendance is also important! Please, if your child is ill keep him or her home but otherwise make sure she or he is at school on time all day every day! I know there are some extenuating circumstances that hinder getting to the school on time sometimes but please make the adjustments needed to get here. In all classes learning begins at the tardy bell and your child could be missing some important information if she or he is tardy every day.
Speaking of learning... homework is VERY important. It reemphasizes material learned in the classroom that day. The practice they do at home betters the chances on assessments and helps them as they move along in their school careers. I tell my students that practice doesn't make perfect... perfect practice makes perfect! If we practice something wrong over and over again, it's still practice but we will always be wrong. BUT if we practice perfectly right every time we will be right every time! If you every have questions on your child's homework please contact your child's teacher immediately to help get the issue resolved. This will help in learning and keep your child well balanced in his or her learning.
