Mrs. Adkins
- I am excited to be teaching your child this year. This is my seventeenth year teaching! Fourth grade is by far, the most exciting grade level to teach! This year will be full of exciting learning, field trips, place based education activities, and fun, fun, FUN!!
- My Mission Statement - Being a teacher is not just a "job" for me - it's a calling to love, educate, and nurture my students each and every day. I believe in the ability of each and every child. I expect the very best from each student, not only academically, but also behaviorally and socially. I will devote the entire year to loving, uplifting and educating your children. I will help my students create a positive self image that will encourage them to be successful in their learning. Each day, my focus is to instill a love of learning in my students and help them to see the ability they have within themselves. I realize that I have the power to make a difference in the lives of my students.
- My husband, Chuck, and I will be married twenty-one years this summer. God has blessed us with three wonderful daughters! Emily is 15 years old and will be a sophomore at Kelly Walsh. Haley is 11 years old and will be in 6th grade at Dean Morgan. Ellie is two years old and is a feisty, fun little toddler! Our older girls spend A LOT of time in competitive dance. As a family, we love to camp, hike, read, watch movies, and of course DANCE!
- You can contact me at the school (253-1900) Monday through Friday around 8:00 a.m - 5:00 p.m. with the exception of Monday and Wednesday after school. If you leave me a message I will make every attempt to get back with you by the next recess. However, I am often working with a student during recess or planning for the next activity, so there are times when I may not be able to get back to you until after school. You can also email me at [email protected]. In addition, Southridge has a staff meeting every Thursday morning and Ms. Schiller and I have a grade level meeting every Monday during Art time. In a nutshell, I can be hard to reach - if you really need to get in touch with me, leave a message with Ms. Becky and she will track me down!
Mrs. Schiller
My name is Ms. Jo Schiller. I am so happy to get to be one of your 4th grade teachers. I have been teaching for 25 years and teaching 4th grade is my favorite for many reasons.
My Mission Statement - I recognize that each child is an individual with unique talents and diverse, personal needs and that all children are able to succeed. Therefore, I will respect the individual needs of my students; foster a caring and creative environment where my students feel safe; and use best practices in education to help my students meet their potential. I will give student the skills and tools necessary to compete in an ever-changing world.
As you can see in the photo above, I have three beautiful daughters. Kelsey is 25 years old and a student with the University of North Dakota at Casper College. She is working on becoming an occupational therapist. Lauren is 21 years old and is obtaining a degree in kinesiology at the University of Wyoming. My youngest daughter, Bry, is 15 years old and will be a sophomore at Kelly Walsh High School. Each of my girls are very different from each other in their own awesome, unique ways. Our family also consists of a Sheltie dog named Kodi and a black cat named Meeko.
One of our favorite family pastimes is traveling. We've taken many awesome trips to places like Hawaii, Mexico, San Diego, Phoenix, and, my favorite, Yellowstone and Teton National Parks. My girls and I are also big sports fans. We enjoy watching the University of Wyoming Cowboys, Denver Broncos, and the Denver Nuggets.
You can contact me at the school (253-1900) Monday through Friday before or after school. If I am not available, please leave a message and I will get back to you as soon as I am able. You can also email me at [email protected].
